Designed for Commerce Workshop 2 – Everyone Has Something to Sell, a platform for discovering and creating personalised items announce the “Designed for Commerce” (D4C) workshop 2.0. The second workshop themed “Discover how to monetise your creativity” will hold on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria, at a venue to be disclosed after shortlisting of participants has been concluded. The workshop is a part of the D4C initiative, which is designed to facilitate conversations, collaborations and spaces for designers, influencers, digital entrepreneurs, activists, entertainers and brands who are interested in shaping the influence of technology on commerce.

The inaugural edition of the workshop which held at the Golfview hotels, Ikeja, had several participants in attendance comprising of graphic designers, digital marketers, entertainers and activists, and was facilitated by a team of 3 entrepreneurs in the fields of e-commerce, mobile technology and logistics, as well as the talented creative director of one of the most prestigious advertising agencies in the country.

The D4C initiative was found by with a team of three (4) co-founders, currently led by Damilare Ogunleye. Their inspiration was borne out of their experiences at the Alibaba and United Nations Committee on Trade & Development e-founders initiative, which seeks to empower 200 African entrepreneurs with skills to effectively advance technology-enabled ecosystems in Africa. Seeing the way young people in China were leveraging technology for commerce, sparked the idea that there exists an opportunity to ignite and accelerate same in Nigeria and the rest of Africa.

Registration is free and currently open at, however, only shortlisted registrants will be invited. The event is supported by the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) through Lagos Innovates, Nestle Milo and Nescafe. Beyond a series of workshops, other components of the D4C initiative include a summer camp and a workspace specifically designed to serve the creative industries.
